Tips for Estimating the Value of the Most Common Personal Injury Claims”. The presentation discusses an overview of Louisiana’s litigation environment and provides claims professionals with information to assist in their evaluation of the damages associated with some of the most common personal injury claims. Mr. Waltz and Ms. Broom will also discuss additional considerations that claims professionals should be aware of as a claim progresses to litigation.

Mr. Jeff Waltz, a founding partner of The Waltz Law Group, will speak at the 2015 Louisiana Claims Association Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, June 25, 2015 on the topic “Catch Me If You Can— Using Video Surveillance and Social Media to Combat Fraudulent Insurance Claims”. The presentation focuses on identifying potential sources of evidence through traditional and non-traditional video surveillance as well as an overview of the use of different social media platforms to gather evidence. The presentation will also focus on successful ways to use such evidence in handling a claim or in litigation. Lastly, Mr. Waltz will discuss evolving Louisiana case law concerning use of social media evidence.
Mr. Waltz focuses his practice on civil litigation, commercial litigation, workers’ compensation defense, insurance coverage analysis and insurance defense. He has significant experience in admiralty and maritime law, automobile liability litigation, first party and third party property damage claims, construction defect claims, and bad faith claims. He has also advised insurance clients on claims handling issues and reviewed and analyzed insurance policies and other documents in order to draft formal coverage assessments.

The Waltz Law Group is pleased to announce that partner, Jeffery J. Waltz, has been selected by New Orleans Magazine as a “Top Lawyer” in Commercial Litigation.
New Orleans Magazine contracted Professional Research Services of Royal Oak, Michigan. The voting by Professional Research Services was used to determine the top New Orleans attorneys. The survey was open to all licensed attorneys in New Orleans. Attorneys were asked which attorney they would recommend in the New Orleans area. Each attorney was allowed to recommend up to three colleagues in each given legal specialty. Once the online nominations were complete, each nominee was carefully evaluated on the basis of the survey results, the legitimacy of their license and their current standing with the State Bar Association of Louisiana. Only attorneys who received the highest number of votes in each specialty are included in this list.
